leaving your imprint to benefit future generations

By including Museum of Deaf History, Arts & Culture® in your Will/Trust, you are insuring that MDHAC continues to remain open for decades to come.  Museum of Deaf History, Arts & Culture® encourages you to make a lasting gift, leaving your imprint to benefit future generations.   If you have already left a lasting legacy through your Will or Trust to Museum of Deaf History, Arts & Culture, but have not informed us, please take the opportunity to contact us about your wonderful gift.  This allows us to be aware of your gift so that we may show our appreciation.

The most common and simplest form of planned/legacy giving is a bequest.  A bequest is a gift of asset(s) made through the donor(s) Will or Trust.

The typical bequest donor:

  • Wants to complete a gift while keeping assets available during life.

  • Has assets beyond those intended for heirs

  • Wants to memorialize a family member

  • Wishes to start a family legacy of giving

  • Owns assets not suitable as a gift to heirs

  • Cares about the Museum of Deaf History, Arts & Culture®

Gift features and benefits for leaving a bequest:

  • Future estate tax reduction

  • Can be specific amount or a percentage of the estate

  • Leaving a Legacy for the benefit of preserving the heritage and history of the Deaf community

  • Can take effect only after family/beneficiary receive assets
